"Just say you love me, like I do, The Way I Love You"

If there’s one thing I’ve learned on this journey, it’s that self-love isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a daily practice. The Way I Love You (TWILY) is more than a song; it’s an anthem, a reminder, and a love letter to the version of me that once settled for less. A few weeks ago, just before my birthday, we brought that message to life in the most incredible way during the video shoot for TWILY, and let me tell you… it was a WHOLE vibe.

The Vision: A Love Story with Myself

From the moment we started conceptualizing the video, I knew it had to reflect the essence of the song—confidence, healing, and the beauty of choosing yourself. Every shot, every frame, every movement was intentional. We wanted to capture those moments of self-reflection, joy, and that undeniable I gotta love me better than you energy.

The Set & Aesthetic

Picture this: soft golden light spilling through vintage windows, mirrors reflecting growth, lush florals symbolizing transformation, and a wardrobe that screamed, She knows her worth! The entire set felt like stepping into the pages of my own journey—raw, elegant, and full of power. We wanted to feel vintage aesthetics with modern charm. Hair, make-up and set were all working together to give the retro vibes we needed. Side note: The home we shot in was featured on ARHAUS in collaboration with designer Keia McSwain and all I can say is RICH...rich tones, rich textures, rich vibes, rich music...everything just felt rich!

The Moments That Made It Special

🎥 The Mirror Scene – This one hit deep. Standing in front of the mirror, looking myself in the eyes, and speaking the lyrics "I used to wait for you to tell me all the things I wanna hear… had to get myself together, look myself up in the mirror"—whew. That moment wasn’t just for the camera. It was for me.

💃🏽 Dancing in My Power – There’s something so freeing about moving with confidence. There was a scene where I danced alone, embodying the pure joy of self-love. No approval needed, no validation required—just me, vibing in my own energy.

👑 The Final Shot – Let’s just say, the ending will leave you feeling like you just unlocked a new level of self-worth. But trust me, this retro music video shoot for TWILY was GIVING. (No spoilers, but you’ll feel it in your soul!)

What’s Next?

This is just the beginning. The music video is coming soon, and I can’t wait for y’all to experience it. But in the meantime, I want to hear from YOU. What does self-love mean to you? Drop a comment and let’s talk about it. 💛

Stay tuned. The best is yet to come. ✨
